Comment:
F.E. Sparshot was born in England in 1926 and attended Oxford
University. From 1950 he taught philosophy and classics at Victoria
College, University of Toronto. The author of many books on ethics,

Aesthetics," University of Toronto Press, 1963.
This classicizing portrait shows both the subject and the portraitist paying
homage to another Englishman, and sometime resident in Toronto -
			                       Wyndham Lewis.
